Stress Free Planning!

Troubleshooting Tips For A Stress-Free Day From Our Wedding Coordinators

Plan to have everything ready a month before the actual wedding so you can take the last few weeks beforehand to relax a little. That way you know that if anything unexpected crops up last minute you’re not going to feel overwhelmed.

To-Do Lists For The Win

Writing things down can help you mentally manage your planning. Write to-do lists in order of importance so you deal with the things that mean the most to you first instead of getting caught up in all the little details. Lists can also help you delegate tasks to friends/family that would like to help in the planning process.

Budget

Voted the most stressful topic when wedding planning. Set a realistic budget, with a breakdown of what you plan on allocating it to in order of importance (refer to your to-do list). Leave 5% of your budget unallocated for miscellaneous expenses that may come up.

Be Inspired But Don’t Fall Into The Comparison Trap…

While Instagram and Pinterest are amazing for aesthetic ideas for your dream day, don’t fall into the trap of comparing your wedding or feeling like your day won’t be as good or look as pretty as what you see online… Your day will be amazing and unique to you and your partner, if you start to feel like the scrolling for inspiration is leaving you low, consider a digital detox.

Like Life

There will be ups and downs to the wedding planning process, don’t expect everything to be perfect, there will be hiccups and that’s ok. Try to focus on the positives and don’t get hung up on things that are out of your control.

Take A Break…

Wedding planning can be quite consuming and as most couples start the planning process so far in advance it’s important to take time out from thinking, talking about and planning your wedding. Make a conscious effort to spend quality time with your partner that doesn’t revolve around wedding planning.

Take Care Of Yourself, This Isn’t Selfish, It’s Necessary

Start with the basics:

Sleep: Getting enough sleep is essential to your well-being (7-8 hours per night is recommended) limit screen time and dim the lights in your house after sunset to help with sleep quality. Feeling well-rested will help with your mood and productivity.

Move: Find a physical activity you enjoy, whether it’s walking in nature or pumping iron in the gym, exercise releases all the feel-good endorphins and contributes to a healthy lifestyle, it’s easier to keep your mental health in check when you’re physical health is in a good state.

Nourish: While pre-wedding diets aren’t necessary, nourishing your body will help keep you healthy improving your immune system and making sure you are fit and well enough to deal with stress. Whole foods rich in nutrients will have your brain and body working at peak performance.

Relax: Find a tool for stress management that works for you, whether its meditation, aromatherapy, journaling, ice baths, spending time with friends/family/animals or even talking to a professional, asking for or seeking help when you don’t feel great is important.
